Final Score in Texas: Angels 6 Rangers 2
Albert Pujols homered twice and Mike Trout hit a 2-run homerun to lead the Angels over the Rangers as the race for the AL West tightened up considerably.
Actually the funniest thing to see was Josh Hamilton punished for playing shallow on a Torii Hunter deep double that ordinarily would have been a warning track flyout. Hamilton scrambled all the way back as two Angels runners scored. It was just a stick funnier than watching the glazed look in the eyes of a clean shaven Derek Holland not comprehending that an Angels batter knew how to take a walk when Chris Iannetta got on base for Trout to do what the Franchise himself do - crush pitches.
Meanwhile the Weave was the man, if constrained by a high pitch count. It was a hundred degrees when Jered Weaver threw his 97th pitch of the evening. Kevin Jepsen got him out of a jam I guess and Jason Isringhausen pitched a clean eighth which alowed Ernasty himself, Ernesto Frieri to do what Mister Freeze does and cool down an already stagnanty below room temperature Rangers offense.
