Halo All Star pitcher C.J. Wilson went eleven starts without recording a win.

Sabermetrics teaches us that wins are a stat that are so overvalued that they are useless in calculating things.

Psychologists and human beings will tell you that if a starting pitcher goes eleven starts without recording a win, getting a win on that twelfth start cannot be valued enough.

And of course the saber-set's retort "Wins don't matter" always sounds more inane than intended, especially on a night when the Angels shaved a game off their Wild Card and AL West deficit courtesy of C.J. Wilson walking a tightrope the right way for once. Once in a long while.

Staked to a four-run lead courtesy of four straight hits in the first inning that were capped by a two run monster mash homerun by Kendrys Morales, Wilson wavered but never faltered. How long has it been? Let's hear from the least straight edge band in history about how it must feel...

Chris Iannetta also had a two-run homerun and everyone in the Angels lineup had a hit except slumping Mark Trumbo who walked once and scored a run. The Angels 7-8-9 hitters, Alberto Callaspo, Erick Aybar and Iannetta went 5 for 11, with 3 runs, 3 doubles, a HR and 4 RBI.

Angels have chance to sweep the entire season series from the gutted swine that is Red Stocking Nation, tomorrow night in Anaheim.
