Official "Who Replaces Mike Scioscia" Thread

Well. Six weeks after the infamous gaffe that has come to be known only as "8/1"...four weeks after the gut-wrenching mockery of the 2002 team's Hall of Fame induction...four days after Speedy Petey became Freezy Petey...Scioscia's latest managerial gaffe, this time involving him pressing the panic button TOO EARLY instead of too late, is, while a twisted change of pace, the final straw. There is no longer a question of whether or not Mike Scioscia will be fired.

It's now a question of who Jerry Dipoto hires to replace him.

We need to face it. We've known for years now that someday, Mike Scioscia would lose his shine. But blinding us from how soon that day was coming, were consecutive seasons of player gaffes and inconsistencies that, if not absolving Scioscia's fading glory, at least covered it up quite nicely.

However, the cover-ups lasted only so long, until we saw the ugly beast of managerial decay rear its ugly, ugly head. Jerry Dipoto, the knight in shining armor attempting to slay the beast, cut off a crucial limb in mid-May by firing Mickey Hatcher, but the beast, unfortunately, is still raging with brute strength. We, the scared and helpless townspeople, hope the beast will soon be done ravaging our formerly peaceful and happy village, and turn our collective eyes to the knight, armed with his general managerial sword, hoping he'll do more than wield it with authority. We townspeople hope with much intensity that the knight will slay the beast--we're very close to doing the job ourselves, but are putting our trust in this knight to do the job we hope not to have to do ourselves.

Upon the eventual slaying of the beast, we the townspeople must know who shall guide our glory-starved town back to the promised land next. Share your thoughts here, make your case. Who emerges from the woodwork to claim back what was rightfully made ours ten years ago?
