The Angels pulled to 2.5 games from the postseason with a victory over the Chicago White Sox in a game that started off smelling like a blowout but finishing like a sprint across a tightrope on fire.

Dan Haren pitched six great innings and then had a little hiccup in the seventh. He never trailed in the game as the Angels offense got four runs in the first inning.
