Over at the Chicago Cubs SBNation site, Al Yellon found a very cool, and very rare video of Jim Maloney's 1965 no-hitter against the Cubs. The You Tube video only has from the 8th on, but what's amazing is how great the quality of the color video is. Considering the game was played over 48 years ago, the quality is truly amazing:
After checking out the above video, I did a quick search for any Angels games. Look what I found:
NBC's game of the Week from August 1967 featuring the California Angels in Boston. Although the video is only about a hour hour, it's so cool to see the game and how it was shown in the late 60's. Note the halos on their hats!
And this game from the Angels' first division winning season of 1979 showing Nolan Ryan's one-hitter against the New York Yankees in Anaheim:
There are about 20 videos on the ClassicMLB11 channel, ranging from 1967 game to 1988, including the 1979 playoff games against Baltimore, Mike Witt's 1984 perfect game against the Texas Rangers, and Don Sutton's attempt at career win #300 from 1986. The Angel videos can be found here: CALIFORNIA ANGELS VIDEOS
Enjoy!
