All indications point to DiPoto dipping from the Diamondbacks player pool again. Though there is no specific players mentioned that the Angels are interested in, Trevor Cahill fits the bill of the "cost controlled starting pitcher" the Angels have been looking to acquire. Cahill is signed through the 2017 season earning $7 Million in 2014, $12 Million in 2015, $13 Million in 2016 (with a $300k buyout), and $13 Million in 2017 (with a $500k buyout). Cahill is mostly a sinker, changeup, slider pitcher who throws in the high 80's with a career FIP of 4.33 and a career xFIP of 4.11. He's also prone to the free pass with a career BB/9 of 3.45.
