The Angels pitching manged to dance thru raindrops in that semi-vaunted Yankees lineup last night and the bats were present and accounted for even if each inning was not a big inning. It was enough and we'll take it.
Tonight Tommy Hanson is on the mound and if you listened to our Thursday LunchTime Halotalk Podcast (HERE IS A LINK), Sam Miler from Baseball Prospectus singled Hanson as a player that the projection systems overvalue to the point of perhaps irresponsibility. When those systems give us a glimmer of hope for the team, breaking them down and comparing them to reality is a saddening thing.
However... perhaps Hanson returns to form tonight - if he does he would weirdly then be confirming theory instead of keeping with realistic expectations that evryone's eyes can see. Are you following here?
