The Angels had all of their weaknesses exposed in public in a shameful loss to the Red Sox in Boston on Sunday afternoon. Joe Blanton served up three home runs and the Angels offense looked paltry, weak and gutless most of the afternoon despite scoring five runs. Howie Kendrick alone left six men on base.
Old foe David Ortiz must be drinking from the fountain of youth or some other clinic, not that one would need to be medicated to bash the meatballs that Blanton served up to the Fenway Frankenfurters. Ortiz was 2 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBI, Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit two homers, one off of Blanton and the other off of reliever Robert Coello and Mike Carp joined the parade with a bomb to center off of Bluto too.
Albert Pujols and Alberto Callaspo each hit solo homers, Mike Trout was 3 for 5 with a run scored and Mark Trumbo was 2 for 3 with two walks but all around them was weakness. Josh Hamilton was 0 for 5 and Howie was 0 for 4. Behind the dish, Chris Iannetta allowed a passed Ball to move a man from 1B to 3B. All weaknesses ...EXPOSED. the only silver lining is angering Yankees fans who hate to see the Chowds win.
