Jered Weaver had just one bad inning, but in a game where Mike Trout was held out to rest tight hamstrings, one bad inning was enough. The Weave allowed four earned runs all in a lousy 30+ pitch fourth inning and the sputter Halo offense could hardly muster diddly squat. When Dino Ebel held up Mark Trumbo on a Hank Conger double when he would have made it home easily, sure enough, the sac-fly to be by the next batter was not - as Trumbo was called out at the plate in a phantom tag that bodes ill for those who think or feel that the coming replay in a booth will ever prove to be 100% conclusive.
Trumbo had both RBIs, a fourth inning single to score Erick Aybar in what might have been a rally to breathe life into Jered's burst bubble and a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth with one out, little hope and no fans in the stands to see it anyway. Blah Blah Blah, Angels lose.
