Troutless Angels Lose in 14 Innings

Extra Inning Snoozefest

Final Score in Anaheim: Indians 4, Angels 1 ...in 14 innings.

Terrible Terrible Terrible. Mike Trout watched the game from the bench and the world saw what would happen in Anaheim every night had 22 teams not passed on Trout in June of 2009.

The first Angels batter of the game hit the second pitch he saw for a solo home run. Off to an exciting start, it would be the only run that the Angels would score. 14 innings followed without a run. Some of the innings went quick and others had threats - the bases were even loaded with Halos in the game with nobody out. But no other Angel would score on Tuesday night... OR Wednesday morning.

C.J. Wilson pitched fantastic. He allowed but a run into the eighth inning, striking out five, walking three and allowing four hits, one a solo home run to Carlos Santana that hit the glove of Peter Bourjos over the Centerfield fence with enough force that it knocked off the glove and tied the game. And the relief pitching was fabulous too, a rarity, really. That is until Joe Blanton took the mound.

Oh well why recap a morass of ineptitude collaborating with mediocrity late into the night and early into the morning in a lost season. Onward to a better draft pick in June of 2014!
