Final Score in Milwaukee: Angels 5 Brewers 0
The Angels saw their starting pitcher combine with the bullpen to shut out the Brewers 5-0. Jered Weaver pitched six innings of three-hit, three-walk, and three-K baseball while the bats showed up early and late. Kole Calhoun hit his fifth home run in the fourth inning and Grant Green hit a bases loaded double in the seventh to remove all doubt about who would take this one.
Michael Kohn pitched a scoreless seventh and Cory Rasmus blanked the Brew Crew over the final two innings.
The one that got away, Jean Segura, had one hit in five plate appearances for the Halos, but it still hurts in case you are wondering.
With the pitchers batting, Mike Scioscia did the switcheroo of having Peter Bourjos bat for Jered Weaver to advertise to every National League General Manager the brilliance of having a great defensive replacement raring to go on offense. It fizzled as Bourjos was 0 for 2 in the game but they are probably going to trade him anyway.
