Angels take season's final game in Oakland in extra innings, 5-4

Josh Hamilton ties in the ninth, and wins it in the eleventh.

Final in San Jose Oakland:  Angels 5, A's 4 (11 innings)

In the alternate timeline where the toilets are no longer backing up at the O.co because the A's now play in San Jose, Adrian Beltre is hitting in the heart of the Angles batting order, and Mike Trout has already signed a 10-year, $250M extension, the boys from Anaheim are celebrating another West Division championship.

However, in this timeline the toilets are still backing up.

Yet, we in this timeline get to see glimpses of how great it is for those in the bizzaro world where Josh Hamilton always hits a game tying 2-run home run in the ninth and puts the team ahead with a sac-fly in the eleventh, Jason Vargas has 6 innings of great pitching instead of just five, and Mike Trout gives the Angels an early lead.  In that world Ernesto Frieri is leading the league with 64 saves.  In this one, he shows flashes of brilliance with a 1-2-3 inning to save the game in extra frames, recording his 35th save of the season.

The Angels managed but one hit through the first 7 innings, but that one hit was Mike Trout's 26 home run of the season, a 2-run shot giving the Halos an early lead.  That lead would last until the 3rd when the A's double-upped the Angels with two 2-run home runs off of Jason Vargas.

Vargas went 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, yet it was just that third inning that the A's gave him trouble.  Cory Rasmus, Buddy Boshers, and Juan Gutierrez (W, 1-4) combined for 4 innings of scoreless relief, giving up one hit, one walk, while striking out four.
