The soap opera is nearing a close. By Friday, January 24th Japanese sensation Masahiro Tanaka must sign with an MLB team or he will no longer be on the market. Simple question: who signs him?
Our beloved Los Angeles Angels. In need of a pitcher, with an owner who loves to grab headlines, the Angels seem to be a good landing spot. Unless the rumors of said owner wanting to avoid the luxury tax are true.
The Los Angeles Dodgers. Fueled with a seemingly endless supply of money and holding World Series aspirations, the Dodgers could sign him. But they already have a solid rotation and nobody has endless money, right?
The New York Yankees. If any team has consistently acted like they have endless money, it's the MFY. And they need a pitcher. But will Mrs. Tanaka want to live in cold, NYC. I've heard the rats there are the size of dogs here.
The Chicago Cubs. Rumored to be pushing hard for Tanaka, they have resources, a clear need, and an aggressive GM. But, if Tanaka has World Series aspirations does Chicago make sense?
Or somebody else. Make your vote in the poll, then state it in the comments. Winners get bragging rights.
