First off is Scioscia the problem or is he not the problem. Well Arte Moreno and Jerry Dipoto are the guys in charge right? Arte and Jerry go out and get the players and sign them. Right? As for Scioscia, he is only the manager and can play only the players given to him. Lets face it both the rotation and the bullpen are just dreadful. Well maybe not up to pair like most of the MLB. Let's hope the Halo's are just starting out slow.
During the offseason Jerry Dipoto did not want to see poor pitching again this year. It looks like he went more for a quantity over quality approach. For the rotation, the best Dipoto could do was adding Hector Santiago. REALLY?!?!? Dipoto is hoping that his young arms, Santiago, (Skaggs my favorite and will get the 1st win for the Halos) and Garrett Richards, realize their potential, then the Angels could have a pretty good rotation. If they all struggle, things could get real ugly, real fast in Anaheim.
Then Dipoto tried adding relief with setup man Joe Smith that is still pretty questionable. How about southpaw Sean Burnett a good lefty reliever when healthy, but coming off offseason elbow surgery. Then there is Fernando Salas from St. Louis. Well we all know about his issues last year demoted to the minors, unlikely he will be a difference maker in a bullpen. Lots of question marks and no real answers.

Then there is a "Can we all get along" thing going on in Halo town. This rift between Scioscia and Dipoto for the second straight year. Well not a rift but some philosophical differences around how to fix the team. They have been quoted, "that they are both on the same page". But do the pages even exist.
As for tension amongst Angel players? Really? Well yes people there has been issues going on in the locker room. Some of the older vets not seeing eye to eye with the up and coming younger players. But this is the reason why John McDonald and Raul Ibanez were brought in to help with the clubhouse issues.
When it's all said and done the real issues are not with Scioscia. It's about what will the Angels get out of Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton. Also the biggest issue of all, can the Halo's get at least average pitching this year? Because we all know winning fixes everything. But losing will cause problems. Let's hope for the best and win.
