Final Score in Houston: Angels 3 Astros 8
C.J. Wilson gifted so many fat fastballs for the Astros to hit on Tuesday that it can safely be assumed he was doing charity work. He allowed five earned runs in less than four innings pitched but with 71 pitches thrown you just know he will be in shape for his next start on this ten game road trip.
On offense the Angels couldn't have solved the pitching of Brad Peacock if he had been a raven crowing "nevermore". Gordon Beckham had three hits but that is supposed to be the gravy on the meat and potatoes of the lineup. Well imagine a plate of gravy - that was the Halos offense tonight. When the cooking finally got going it was too little too late. It would have been a good night for fast food.
If there is a silver lining it is that the core of the bullpen - Kevin Jepsen, Joe Smith and Huston Street - all have had three full days of rest. The outer core - Jason Grilli and Fernando Salas - did too. The Halos are now 10-5 against Houston this season so these things are gonna happen. Baseball tomorrow, so there we go!
