I am just going to come out and say it, rip the band-aid off, so to speak. Ok? Here goes: the Angels lost to the Athletics...again...further cementing their status at the bottom of the AL West hill. I'm sure you're shocked, surprised, blown away and flabbergasted by this news.
Cool. Another loss. Yay!
Here was some cool stuff that happened:
-Kole Calhoun went yard, and then Mike Trout went yard right after him. Back-to-back bombs for the CF/RF combo. That was cool, yeah?
-Albert Pujols hit a homer again, officially passing Harmon Killebrew for sole possession of 11th place on the all time list. Pretty cool, sure.
Here are some dumb things that happened:
-Jhoulys Chacin only made it to the fifth, ultimately finishing the night with 4.2 IP, 6 H and 4 ER. Basically, he was Jered Weaver from last night. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-Mike Morin came in for Chacin, and just made things worse. In his 0.2 IP, he gave up 3 R on 2 H, including one from Coco Crisp. Pffft. Whatever.
-Oh yeah...Coco Crisp. Crisp had himself a night, going 3-4, with a BB, 4 runs scored and 2 RBI. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All in all, the Angels got beat handily once again, with the A's seemingly figuring out every pitcher we have and beating up on the team accordingly. Rough home stand, to say the least. With tonight's loss, the Angels have now lost SIX in a row, and they continue their reign as rulers of last place.
Hope you enjoyed Christmas in June, folks! Just like in actual, Angels-fan winter months, we ended up being confused, saddened and disappointed by what the Angels do, or fail to do. Life rolls on. That is to say, turn the page.
Barf.
