Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Game 157/162

Shining Halos vs. Garish Green & Yellow

Official Game Thread

Santana (10-8, 4.69) vs. Kennedy (3-4, 4.32)

My Picks: LAA 7/12, OAK 3/9

It's only fitting that the Angels' magic number is at 2 -- a chance to clinch the division -- and they put Magic on the mound.

Our fearless blogmaster, Rev -- who is at the game tonight -- has promised to streak across the McAfee Coliseum field in celebration if the Angels clinch the division title tonight. Here's hoping we see his pasty ass on SportsCenter:

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce

I vote no.

I vote yes....
... because I know he would be more ashamed to let me down than to let 14,000 fans see his ding-a-ling.

Rev. Hater
If he does do it.  He most likely be wearing his new Finley Jersey with his white ass hanging out.

Wait
Is it more fitting to pitch him when the magic number is two than, say, when the magic number was 10?  Or 163?

Question
Which one of you told me to see Richard Swift in concert?

He's opening for Earlimart
Sunday night at Schubas in Chicago.  I'll be there.   Place only holds about 150 people, tops.  Does he know you guys are Angels fans?  Should I wear my hat?

Dickie
I don't know.  He is not that big of a sports fan.  if you can you should go to the show.  he is a great  artist.

Angels aren't looking good again
Two consecutive popouts.  And, MLB Gameday Audio's down.  Great start, dummies.

... it is interesting listening to the game broadcast in Spanish.

So much for that
Santana sucks on the road.  Let's hope it doesn't get any worse than this, 'cause Ervin can fall apart in a big hurry.

remember when the Rev freaked out during Washburn's last start? let's not go there.

figgins
im kinda scared to be goin to the postseason with him in cf...even if its probably going to be just against lefties

by Sam on Sep 27, 2005 8:27 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Are you kidding?
Figgy's already a better CF than Finley, and not by a little bit.  Outside of a resurgence by Erstad -- and God knows if he could play at this late date in center -- he's the best the team has to offer.

Wow
Despite all the ups and downs this year, the Angels did it.  Wow.  I'm so glad it's not going down to having to go to Texas to win it.

Congratulations to the Angels.

Rev update
The Rev called and left me a message saying that the minute the last out was recorded, he high-fived Arte Moreno!

Did anyone see it? Did anyone tape the game? I missed the moment because I was on call with a client.

I'm still trying to reach the Rev, but he's not picking up. Hopefully he's on his way to jail sans culottes.

Yes We Did
We long-time Angels fans know it, but let me say it anyways: These are the golden days, Angel fans.  Enjoy every second!  And here's to Mike Scoiscia, Bill Stoneman, and Arte Moreno--they've made the Angels perrennial winners.  Celebrate!

Still basking
They're still showing the locker room interviews on MLB.TV - Dennis Kuhl was awesome.  I want to go drinking with that boisterious sonofabitch.

KCAL moments
  1. Just as Scioscia is about to dump champagne on Hudler's head, he asks, "Hud, is the hair going to stay?"
  2. At the end of the broadcast, KCAL displays a message saying "Thank you, Angels, for 10 great years on KCAL" or something like that. Take THAT, KCAL, you dumbshits.

Athletics Nation
I used to think the Onion was pretty good, but that A's nation site is the funniest goddamn site I've ever seen.  High comedy right now.

Its help they need
Bunch of babies. Glad I don't live in the Bay area.
 Those freaks are strange.

But reading a little of that makes beating their asses in their town makes it all the sweeter.

Best of the West.

I wonder if Magic will win the ROY.
