Cut Steve Finley, Fire Rex Hudler or get pictures of them naked in a motel room together

The minute Finley is up all Rex does is pump up that he "IS DUE". All of the stats Physioc recites and all of the stats KCAL flash on the screen tell us a different story. On the first pitch of the at-bat, Finley makes an awful swing and Rex turns on the diarrhea of the mouth about how good it was for Finley to gage his swing on that pitch. They are going to apologize all the way to 2nd place for this inbred asshole.

As far as Scot Shields, he is just overmatched and psyched out. Donnelly is borderline worthless.
Suggested Bullpen Usage: I'm thinking Kevin Gregg goes the 6th, Escobar the 7th & 8th and Frankie the 9th from here on out.

This game was pretty much over when Scioscia penciled in Erstad as the #5 batter, but the team showed amazing poise refusing to succumb to Mike's dumb-jock idiocy. If you are Mike Scioscia's daughter, stay out on prom night and tell dad you were at church - tonight's game proves he is stupid enough to believ you.

Cut Finley, fire Hudler for promoting a pot-smoking lifestyle and being a kiss-ass to the fan-hating Steve Finley.

On the bright side, we played a tough Boston team very well. I am more confident today then i was yesterday in everything but Scioscia.

Whaddaya frickin want, BRAILLE?
After this game, at least we know the Angels match up well with the AL best and if Scioscia is even halfway managing the game today we win.

HR
anyone actually not see that HR coming?  It made me feel good that I could predict finley, predict finley hitting bad, then the HR to follow...
I have to agree about your bullpen analysis, except I would let frankie go the 7th, escobar 8,9... but that is just because I still dont like krod.
Note on the boston broadcast from an internet friend in Beanville.... as soon as wake got into trouble, all of a sudden he was sick, but was a real man for wanting to pitch.  The same Wake that was God until he fucked up last start.  That of course was from injury.  It amazes me that Boston players are never bad, they always have an excuse.  At least wondersoc let us know why Lackey fell apart.  because he sucks in those middle 3.  I hate boston.

It is official
I hate Boston more than New York.

In fact, they are sort of our Yankees.

scioscia's rationale
i'm not in any way going to defend scioscia for putting finley in tonight, but i think i know why:

quinlan was getting mystified by wakefield tonight, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. and, well, we're all very familiar with scioscia's L/R matchup obsession...

a horrible call, a last gasp to try to breathe life into finley's season, a high-stakes gamble to hopefully give finley confidence and make a wizard out of scioscia.

but it all went horribly wrong.

fellas
it is more like sciossia and stoneman trying to catch a gut shot straight while being pot committed.  It is as simple as that.

Scioscia
Why not pinch-hit Rivera instead of Finley? What difference does the L/R matchup make with a knuckleballer pitching? Figgins went up there right-handed. Scioscia got away with putting Donnelly in thanks to Escobar and a great play by Quinlan. Did anyone here expect Finley to come through? When Shields came in, you could just visualize the walk-off HR from either Ortiz or Ramirez.

Lackey and Escobar keep the Angels in it but (surprise!) the offense and bullpen lose it. Scioscia and the team sure are consistent.

by the books
Scioscia does things by the book, and he will go down with the ship by the book.

Yep
The moment I saw Finley's face in the batter's box was the moment I knew the game was lost.  But I'm guessing he'll be gone after this season, as will Hudler (that's almost assured, I think).  There are going to be a lot of changes with the club, in fact, as guys like Kotchman and Mathis and other up-and-comers will begin to take the place of long-time Angels like Erstad, Salmon, Washburn, and even Anderson (if not this year than the next).  I see a team in transition, but let's hope its more of an Oakland transition year than a typical Angels transition year--and it should be, considering how much dough the owner shells out for a first-tier team.
