The Green Bay Indians of Milwaukee

Scratch that, the Halos are on a plane ... to Milwaukee. The Cream City will be featuring a designated hitter at its park for the first time since old County Stadium was the place and the first Bush Presidency was making blood in the sand seem like Grenada instead of Vietnam.

The Indians are well-rested. Ridiculously rested. They last played part of a game on Friday!

Of course, well-rested could throw hitters off of their timing and cause pitchers to overthrow. This has been known to happen. It probably won't to a degree that the game is severely impacted, but it could be there.

Here are the pitching matchups:
TUE: Santana @ C.C. Sabathia
WED: Saunders @ Jake Westbrook
THU: Moseley @ Jeremy Sowers

Well
This might be good for Santana. Now he won't have to deal with an opposing crowd, so we have a chance to see what he's made of.

This is great
I think all of us here would've preferred them to play at the Big A, but this is a good compromise.

The Angels will get play the games, and not have to play doubleheaders later in the year, which can hurt a pitching staff (or lose off days either).

And while we would've loved them to play here, it probably is more fair that they don't. Imagine the outcry from the A's, Rangers and especially Mariners?

this is carp.
you heard me, carp!

should've been at the big A :)

Wish this were a weekend series
I'd probably be able to get up there for a game.

i'm sitting in Phoenix, thinking how nice it'd be to catch a game there, but its out of the question.

if you're in Chicago, you must go.

Hey, some of us have jobs
We may not have to do anything at those jobs, but we still need to show up.

Anyway, I'm working on it.

Mariners made their bed
"Imagine the outcry from the A's, Rangers and especially Mariners?"

A's and Rangers I understand, but the Mariners waited until they were 1 strike away from an official game loss before they started crying about field conditions.

They deserve to mess up their rotation with a quadruple header wherever Cleveland wants to play them.

If I went to war and could only take one weapon, it would be an HK47.

Will the Indians still be doing their promotions?
Check out the Indians schedule and see what tonight give away was supposed to be

OK, Ok, I'll end the suspense.  Tonight's game was supposed to be:

I like how they use a movie from the 80's
for their promotions...

We use real heroes!  Tim Salmon night for example.  You don't see us pulling out Christopher Lloyd dolls for Angels in the Outfield night!

I need a new signature.

they don't think there will be much
in the way of attendance. I sure wish Wisconsin was closer. Have you seen pics of the stadium in Cleveland? Looks like a giant snowball

Idea
Shouldn't they give out a bunch of free tickets to schools, little leagues and youth groups, to try to put more seats in the stands?

The more empty the stands are, it could get kind of embarassing.

by ligtreb on Apr 9, 2007 3:47 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

great in theory, but
but they'd run into the same problem we would have had in anaheim -- inability to have a safe amount of ushers, concessionaires, security, ticket takers, etc. by effectively limiting attendance to the lower level (they said during the ESPN game tonight that about 4,000 tickets had been sold for tomorrow night), they'll be able to pull this off on a day's notice. not the best solution, i agree, but from an operations standpoint, it makes perfect sense.

and anyway, if they get 5,000, it'll still be more than Olympic Stadium in Montreal used to get near the end ;-)

Similar situation to when we played Seattle
when the Kingdome's roof came apart, was that 1994?  Sat right behind the Angels dugout...it was weird being at the Big A with the Angels a visiting team....
