Halo Hold On

Panther of the Game: Gary Matthews Jr.
The screaming you hear is Missus Halofan unleashing her rage at any network that would splitscreen a hockey game with her Angels.
"I hope Arte is watching this and he cuts of someone's nuts!" (direct quote that got the neighbors to turn off their music to hear what was happening)
I love her...

AGREE
Would be fun to see
When they are on base the ops pitchers are rattled.

Light up the corner of 12th St & Vine
i'm starting to like #77 batting 2nd. Bart picked a good team to have an off night, but he's 3-0 and a Win is a Win.
Donkey, how could you let us down?

Willits could be a full timer
If he is a full timer, we can't have Figgins and Izturis/Aybar and Cabrera and either catcher in there at the same time for the long haul. Just not enough pop IMO. 2 of them is fine and maybe even the catcher on top of those two, but not all 4.

Their value is on the bases

Moseley
.81 WHIP, .186 Average Against, 1.04 ERA. He's been awesome.
Between he and Saunders, if I were Ervin, I'd keep an extra bag packed.
good call
This game is a good example of what I've always liked about Colon too. A night he just didn't have it, he wills his way to pitch at least 5 innings to save on the bullpen.
Loving life right now!
So THAT'S what happens
Right now, Willits and GMJ are setting the table quite nicely for the big fella. I know it won't play out like this every night, but any time there are guys on base in front of Vlad, the complexion of the game just "looks" different.
The most pathetic thing
While I am at it, besides the fact that the only HD Angel telecasts are on ESPN and FOX, Jose and Guby are not making the cut. Since they are in Chicago and K.C., perhaps whomever made the decision as to who broadcasts which games, figured the ratings would be low.
I know that they are new and trying to gain a wider audience, but pleae, Arte and Mgmt., for the sake of the watching public, put a quality TV team together. It says something when you put together a great team on the field and then half-ass it with a below average "Alternate" TV crew.
Jose's in game and field-level insights as well as his post-game interviews are great, but as a play-by-play man it is not good. The tone is very steady and has no urgency or excitement in his voice the way Phys does with a big play or pitch. I would not be opposed to having Guby as a 3rd man in the box to talk about pitching and giving analysis, but as a a full-time color guy, he's not there yet.
Guby's post-game interview with Figgins (on Monday Night) was very rough as well. It looked bad and came off extremely choppy. It was as if someone had asked Guby what it felt like to be back, and he turned that into a question filled with all the typical baseball cliches to Figgins "here to help the ballclub," "I just want to play," "One day at a time," etc, etc.
