Where the heck did Cust come from?

Jack Cust for Oakland has hit six homers in seven games thus far including today's three run walk off. He is replacing the injured Piazza.  I just want to know where this guy came from and what prevented other teams from picking up on him. It pisses me off that teams can spend so much money for guys that don't ever produce much and then Oakland can go find some random fatty in the minors to step up when their guy gets hurt.  Lets hope he cools down soon.

Is an all-male gang-bang
about to occur?  Or are they celebrating a walk-off homer?

They're comfortable enough
with themselves to wear pink.  We should applaud their willingness to be so un-macho.

they already did
macha was fired after last season, Bob Geren, yet another billy beane puppet, is their new manager. what a bunch of tools. Jack Cust and the rest of oakland were just taking advantage of a shitty cleveland bullpen, nothing out of the ordinary.

Apparently
Darlington, NJ.

Let's see how he does with more AB's.   Like, in August.

More seriously
Cust had never done well in the Show before, and Oakland gave up on him, too, before.  He hit 32 homers for high-A High Desert in 1999 as a 20-year-old, and everybody started drooling.

He got big for his britches, and left a Dominican Winter League assignment in the 2000/2001 offseason after just three weeks.  Starting the 2001 season as the Snakes' number two prospect by BA ($), his lack of defense and attitude problems may have led to a trade to the Rockies.  The next year, Cust didn't even figure in Colorado's top 10 players.  The Rocks were so dissatisfied they shipped him to Baltimore, in whose system he stayed through 2004.  The A's had him in 2005, let him go, and the Padres then picked him up, only to give him back to Oakland.  Bet they're sorry, at least so far.

Give credit where it's due
To take a page out of Matt Welch's book:  Cust, in only seven games, already has more walks (six) and home runs (also six) than Garret, Shea, and Robb...combined.  Those aren't our worst hitters.  Rather, they are players that we are counting on to provide offense.

Jack's total PA's = 32
Holy Trinity's total PA's = 251

Hot stretch or not, Cust has absolutely made the Angels "hitters" look silly by comparison.  We need a true DH...

What goes up .......
..... inevitably comes plummeting back to earth. Cust will soon be on the cusp of mediocrity and before you know it ..... POOF!

I think they call this the Sam Horn Syndrome.

Cuss Cust
Stop throwing Jack Cust fastballs and he will turn into Jackie Warner, the California Angels phenom of April 1966.

Consider the pitching he's faced
Which ain't all that ($). Gary Glover. Luke Hudson. Fernando Cabrera. C.C. Sabathia is the only name on that list that looks to me like a quality pitcher.

Well, then - why can't
Garret, Shea, and Robb do the same against those pitchers?  Wait - don't answer that!

Ahh my fellow Angel fans
behaving with the class and decorum that has everyone around the league taking notice.

What is wrong with some of you? You guys are so bent up on Oakland it's scary. Let's worry about our offensive woes rather than trying to belittle their accomplishments.

What am talking about, that is far too sane of a solution for this group.
