Shea Hillenbrand DFA Countdown
Alright, 0-3 again tonight, .220 on the year with 2 extra base hits.
From the site that brought you runs/hits picks.
From the site that brought you OPD.
Let's play DFA Countdown! Pick a date. How much longer does the guy's impotent bat get before the Angels pull the plug? You guess right, and you'll be the proud new owner of...
...uh, a team without Shea Hillenbrand? I think that's a good enough prize. Make your picks!

Unfortunately
agreed with these assessments... except
He's not going to wow us AT ALL, but if we give him enough of ABs, he'll eventually have to produce.
Average doesn't just up and disappear completely without significant reason to do so...
After he basically is just below mediocre on the season for us, he'll decline his contract and ask for more with a team like... The A's? hmm
New question: Who will Shea sign with next season?

I'll take that
weee
why not
2-3 more weeks for the Napster

one week or so more
several more 0'fers against division rivals, a start or two by Kendry whose performance merits keeping el Cubano in the line-up, and this means it's his last (home) stand.

Another failed experiment for an aging player
I forgot Steve Finley
and I
but not his.
leave mathis in AAA, let him learn not to suck in inconsequential games.

Shea is only 31
2003 .316/.351/.517
2004 .312/.355/.468
2005 .302/.364/.451
2006 .305/.346/.486
Shea has a good track record of being a solid 1st half player, one of the major reasons Stoneman made the move because it was hoped that Juan Rivera would be ready for the 2nd half.
Interesting fact: Shea and Alex Rodriguez have the same birthday; July 27, 1975.
(I am NOT suggesting that Shea has the same talent as Alex, just the same age.)

heaven knows his injury couldn't have something...
I dunno
Keep Boo'ing him
It's our only hope...
I remember thinking that the crowd actually had something to do with Alfonso being released last year. I was at his last game as an Angel and the boos were so fierce that it seemed like Stonehead had no choice but to cut his losses. Shea hasn't reached .100 yet, but he's well on his way.
I was standing on my seat yelling and cheering
