LA Angels of Anaheim Game 102/162 GAME THREAD

Saturday Afternoon Game Thread - Motor City Furballs @ Angels - 1 PM
Andrew Miller versus Joe SAUNDERS

Star-divide

Will the number of hits in today's game outnumber the Simpsons Movie commercials between innings? That is a rhetorical question.

Hillenbrand signs w/ Pads
SAN DIEGO -- In a low-risk move, the Padres signed veteran infielder Shea Hillenbrand to a Minor League contract late Friday.
Hillenbrand, who turned 32 on Friday, will report to Triple-A Portland.

Hillenbrand played in 53 games this season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim before being designated for assignment on June 29.

He cleared waivers and became a free agent on July 11.

Padres just locked the WS!!!!
Halos 2007 WITH Hillenbrand:
50W, 27L, .649 winning percentage

Halos 2007 WITHOUT Hillenbrand:
9W, 15L, .375 winning percentage

Padres pick up Shea, double their winning percentage from here on out, collect their rings. Shea joins WTE in our growing, painful, list of "bombs away!"

Does this team take walks anymore? I guess not. We just love swinging at the first or second pitch and not working the pitcher.

Gotta love that 2nd pitch hackin
Saunders has thrown 73 pitchers through 4 innings.

Miller has thrown 62 pitches through 4 innings. He threw 22 in the 4th.

Until Quinlan's flyout, the Angels had recorded all of their outs on the ground.

Gee whiz, WM
I think I said Mathis did good. I'm just saying the Panther should go to GA.
Plus, I did not mention the fact that he had 2nd and 3rd stolen off him consecutively by a mediocre base stealer. 'Cause you never no, that could be the pitchers fault.

I REPEAT: Good game Mathis. Keep it up. I sense good things.
