LA Angels of Anaheim GAME 85/162 GAME THREAD

Will Kowbell Morales play tonight?
Just so we are on the same page with the Kendry Kampaign, here is the reference.

Star-divide

Win today and be assured of sole possession of First Place at the All Star break.
Lose today and the mathematical possibility of being in 2nd at the break looms.

Bad lineup
R. Willits lf
C. Figgins 3b
O. Cabrera ss
V. Guerrero rf
G. Matthews Jr. cf
C. Kotchman 1b
G. Anderson dh
M. Izturis 2b
J. Molina c
  1. Reggie needs to work out his adjustments in the 9-hole, especially while Figgy is still smokin'.
  2. Kotchman should be higher than Matthews -- better slugger, better walker.
  3. Kotch and Anderson should NEVER GO BACK-TO-BACK. That's when they bring in the lefty for the 7th inning, and we score no runs.
  4. Anderson cannot hit better than Howie Kendrick. He should never DH while Howie sits.
Bad bad bad.

Time to change your signature?
Are you yet considering this one:
"Willits to AAA?"

Did we really think Willits would hit .335 all year long?

'86 never happened!

by Downing Rules on Jul 5, 2007 5:40 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Of course not
The real question is how much value he has with the bat.  There are some good indicators (his high walk to strikeout ratio that improved as he faced ever-tougher competition), but this is the big leagues, and his bat has to has to be really impressive to keep him in the lineup considering his only defensive position is the outfield corners.

1 2 3 Inning again.....wouldnt doubt it with this
poor excuse of a Lineup.

When I was begining to think that Sioscia had found his brain.....He DHs Anderson who has not had a hit except the "excuse me swing 2B." I think Scioscia is loosing it on his lineup calls.

Mariners - As
Just switched my MLB extra innings over to watch the Mariners/As game.  Here's an example of how much the A's Suck:  They hit two solo shots in the bottom of the 6th.  On the second one, the FSN home run scroll reads "HOME RUN - CROSBY (7) 1ST CAREER GRAND SLAM"  On a solo shot.  Not sure if FSN Bay Area sucks in and of itself, or if it's just that the A's taint everything associated with them.

by Brew Angel on Jul 5, 2007 8:45 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You were very close.
A's don't taint everything.
