Mariner's Season Not Over
Blame of the Game: Jered Weaver
Come back or no comeback, you give up six runs to the team closest to us, you get the blame.

In the scheme of things, Seattle really had so much more to lose than us.

Fangraphs says
Nah
But balls were dropping in all over the place around CF.
MTY is a flyball pitcher, he needs someone excellent out there.
GMJ?
Are you fucking kidding me?

Way too many possible people to blame, but...
Maicer Izturis
Wow!
Did anyone hear Mota just say goodnight?
He sounded crabby.
Okay, let's talk positive here. Melvin is right.
Conversely, let's also talk about how the Mariners are going to choke.
Melvin needs a slumpbuster.
I hope that description isn't too negative for him.

Assist to the 1B ump for calling Vladdy out despite him being safe.
In regards to the Vlad play

Naw he was out.

That's what I figured

He was safe but we can still blame him because
naw, he was out..
things I learned in little league:
- on a flyball, first step is always back
- pay attention to the game and not the birds in the sky
Not paying attention...
Mike Scioscia for pinch hitting Haynes.
i felt the same

Some perspective in light of this loss:
and i missed the part where they came back

Willits
- 3 LOB which was tied for the most of any angel player.
- 0-4 on the night
- Had a chance with bases loaded and 2 outs to let a pitch way inside hit him to score the go ahead run
And he grounded out

Scioscia
PS
That is expected, once in a while.
However, his weak ass plays on balls hit to LF caused at least 1-3 extra runs to be scored.
Easy BOTG.
(FYI, I am a huge GA supporter, and saw his effort in spring training to be a sign of his return. I still believe he'll be incredibly important to this team's pennant run. HOWEVER, tonight, he is BOTG for his poor defensive plays.)
2nd inning? It bounced off the wall.
If Anderson's defense
I think
I disagree
Nathan Haynes had a downer AB...
How about a Blame on Doug Eddings?
He was just making sure Johjima had the ball
I thought he was safe
A couple of more things
1-why not bring in Speier in the 7th (although the way he pitched in the 12th???)or bring in a rested Shields at that point.
2-why not use Quinlan as a pinch hitter instead of Haynes (I know Q is a righty but he has more experience)
3-why not, walk Ichiro with first base open in the bottom of the 8th?
I agree 100%
OC and Sosh
As to Sosh whay in the world did Haynes pinch hit. My wife, who doesn't follow basebal as much as I do couldn't understand the decision. I can't remember the last time the guy had an at bat. Quinlan should have hit in that situation. I don't care about the righty on righty garbage. Quinlan would have come through in that situation.
To Everyone asking about Q
Statement Game...
I like our chances for the division, and the showing against the Tigers tells me that we have a good chance to go far in the playoffs.
Now, let's not play down to the A's. Go get them, Halos!
