Schilling on Saunders
More interesting observations from a guy we'll see in the playoffs:
The series did end in a split because Saunders pitched his tail off today. In the past few weeks I think we've seen four of the top 7-10 young pitchers in all of baseball in Eric Bedard, Scott Kazmir, Jason Shields and Joe Saunders. After seeing Bedard this spring I was under the impression that this was the year he'd stop flying under the radar but I didn't expect him to be this dominant this fast. His numbers are staggering, even more so when you consider he's doing it in one of the most offensive oriented divisions in the game.Saunders impressed me immensely in the fact that it looked to me like his second start against us he used some stuff he learned from the first game in Anaheim, applied it, and dominated. He was hitting 93-94 pretty consistently today and commanding his fast ball to both sides of the plate.

His loss wasn't his fault

Is Jason Shields really
I friggin' hate Schilling - at least get the name right, Kert.
He is, most likely, sitting at a CPU whilst typing the blog - all he has to do is open a new browsing tab and look up the D-Rays roster on ESPN.COM or baseballreference.com and get the damn name right.
Ick.
He also came out today saying that he'd like to play for Tampa next year if it comes to that. He is annoying and says what every market wants to hear...
I. Can't. Stand. Him. Period.

Bedard is just sick...
Besides that long run on sentence, I would take Saunders over all four of those gentlemen. I think he is clearly our number three starter.

Saunders has EARNED his spot in our rotation
The fact he is a lefty on a totally right handed stsff (apologies to Oliver) should be emphasized! In addition to everything above, Saunders is a change of pace and MUST remain in our rotation!

None of the above
Regarding old pitchers the Angels will most likely face either Schilling or Clemens in the LDS or LCS, hopefully not both. I don't want the AL wild card to come from the eastern division.
