Angels Split with Cleveland

Blame of the Game: Jered Weaver

Despite a lackluster offensive effort in a game which saw 2-men on situations many times, WTY gave up 5 runs in one inning - and that is who's to blame...

Weaver for sure, and
Unfortunately, my Daughter had just bought a WTY T-shirt at the new 2nd level store and wore it through the meltdown. Not only did he give up the 5 runs, but the Tribe REALLY hit him hard....It was painful to watch........

Blame: WTY
Anything less than 6-3 in our next nine games is unacceptable, since we are playing the doormats of the AL.
A big FU to the A's and Red Sox....

What happened to aggressive hitting?
I've never seen the Angels take as many called 3rd strikes as they did last night.
If I went to war and could only take one weapon, it would be an HK47.

Tight Zone and other stuff
Oddly, given all the called 3rd strikes, the umpire seemed to have a tight zone!

A buddy of mine has a theory that the pitchers need more rest between innings, that when an Angels pitcher gets shelled in one inning, the Halos went down 1-2-3 in the previous half-inning.

It certainly worked out that way last night (1-2-3 in the third, and Weaver gets shelled in the 4th).

A similar, more common effect
is when the pitcher goes 1-2-3 on a handful of pitches, resting the defense ...

And then the offense goes off in the next half-inning.

That happens a lot. Cmon stat-heads! Numbers!
