Notice the headline in the hard copy on Sunday linked here at my photobucket site: "Pitchers Lament Mathis' Departure" differs from the one that appeared in the on-line version: "Iannetta catching on at key position for Angels"

If not, when would that milestone/threshold occur?
If so, what is the cumulative impact over games (Is this expressed in runs or wins?)
What would the most basic replacement catcher provide as a net positive?
Are forward/slashes cool?

Matt Klaassen over at FanGraphs has rated the five worst bunts of the 2010 season by WPA. #5 on the list is our very own Jeff Mathis... Klaassen's quote to end all quotes: "Ah, Jeff Mathis, the homeless man’s Jason Kendall." How is it possible that even my eight year-old niece knows how bad Mathis is, but Soth and the gang can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea?

Note that the caption says "In 2009, the Angels set numerous offensive club records including batting AVG (.285), runs scored (883), hits (1604) and RBI (841)." I find it quite odd that Jeff Mathis' picture is depicted for this caption.

The Angels seem willing to listen on Mike Napoli, Jeff Mathis and their entire infield, which consists of Kendry Morales, Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Chone Figgins.
They appear to have interest in young, high-upside pitchers, which could mean they're unsure they'll re-sign John Lackey after the season.
