Beckett reportedly has oblique strain
Asked last night if Beckett is suffering from an oblique injury, a separate Red Sox source said a medical update on Beckett will be announced today, before the team boards its charter flight to California for Wednesday’s Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Los Angeles Angels.
We obviously would like to beat them at full strength. They are supposed to come out with an update after their game tonight.

Angels scalping their own seats on Stubhub?
Check out the 8/8 Angels vs. Yankees game: http://www.stubhub.com/los-angeles-angels-tickets/angels-vs-yankees-8-8-2008-505253/
Normally, only season ticket holders can list their tickets for instant delivery. At the same time, the left field pavillion is not open to season ticket holders (there are a few holdouts from the old days, but not many).
Now check out the 8/8 Angels vs. Yankees game on Stubhub. There are over 400 listings in the left field pavillion with instant delivery. The listings are all priced similarly and at $5 intervals and have very similar notes.
Is there another explanation for this or is it indeed obvious that the Angels are scalping their own tickets without putting them on the primary market?

Frustration in Seattle
Mariners first baseman Richie Sexson precipitated a bench-clearing incident in the fourth inning Thursday night, when he charged the mound after ducking away from a high pitch thrown by Rangers left-hander Kason Gabbard.
The first pitch of the at-bat wasn't that far inside, but Sexson threw down his bat, removed his helmet, charged the mound, threw his helmet at the pitcher and then wrestled Gabbard to the ground.
**
I just watched this on the news and the ball wasn't even close to hitting Sexson...it might have even caught the plate. Then Sexson runs out to the mound and throws his helmet at Gabbard...what a wuss move. This guy is 6'8 and he throws his helmet?
Frustration is setting in in Seattle.

Tejada admits to lying about age
He's actually two years farther along in his decline phase. Thank you, once again, Peter Angelo.

Saying he wanted to unburden himself, Miguel Tejada approached general manager Ed Wade and asked to correct misinformation he gave the Oakland A’s when he signed in 1993. The Astros’ new shortstop is actually 33, two years older than he’s listed in the club’s media guide and other baseball records.
