We left town tied for 1st place and we come home a game up.
I recall a 1986 regular season game being decided against us by a 9th inning balk - I think it was against Boston, anyway at least there is competition for pathetic losses, but on Thursday we lost our hold on 1st place in perhaps the most humiliating regular season defeat in franchise history and we promptly hop on a plane and show up to Eddie Vedder Stadium with the broom.
So we got us some class, some character on this team. And also what we have is facial hair. Lots of it. Look:
