Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the trade that brought Pitcher John Candelaria and Outfielder George Hendrick to the Angels. This was one of the best trades in franchise history.
Candelaria and Hendrick were integral parts of the 1986 Division Champions.
In the Summer of 1985, I worked at the Buena Park K-Mart on Beach Boulevard and clearly recall reading the Sports section over and over again in the cafeteria on my lunch break, excited that the Candy Man was coming to the Big A.
