If you think the players are tired after a long season, you should see what is happening around Angel Stadium. At Saturday's game, our excellent stadium announcer David Courtney was a no-show. His fill-in was an unrehearsed nightmare. There are probably only 15,000 season-ticket-holders who know every line out of the ritual in order and cadence, but you know it was just a frat brother or a corporate crony slinking up to the mike. Bad.

Around the concourse, everywhere, speakers are out, menu items are out, whole food stations are out of standard issue supplies (cups, napkins, change, etcetera) with no extra help to run go get some and no authority to call for replenishment.

Fast forward to Tuesday's game - Bartolo comes out in the top of the 8th after some stiff warmup tosses. Hey, it is (at that moment possibly) the first Angel 20-game winner in 31 years, so let's show random shots of families in the stands instead of Colon walking off the field with the lead. Don't let anyone fool you that Arte runs a tight ship or any of that crap. It is obvious coffee breaks are being extended and happy hour starts before the job is done among Angel operations management...
