I don't see Alfonso Soriano making a massive difference to the Angels beyond `08, especially considering what will be a hefty salary and a contract stretching thru the 2012 season. If Juan Rivera has reached his peak, he should at least plateau there in 2007. Garret seemed a bit healtheir and pain free late in the season and he too, could contribute in 2007 at a plateau mimicking his July-Sept '06. With Vlad's knees not getting any younger, we cannot expect Garreet to just be a permanent DH and he is no defensive liability in the field.
Suffice to say that the crew below may not make the 2004 contract extension of Garret Anderson (05-08 @ $48 million) look like a brilliant stroke, but it certainly puts Stoneman in the spotlight for trading malcontent Jose Guillen for Juan Rivera and Maicer Izturis.
