Panther of the Game:
Jered Weaver
The Pitcher Formerly Known As Lil' Weaver became the first rookie since Fernando Valenzuela to win his first seven starts. Weaver is now boasting a 1.15 ERA in 47 innings. To state the obvious, this is very Panther.
It is significant not only because it helps the Angels in this division race, but also because it adds one more shovel of dirt onto the grave of Irrelevance that is the Los Angeles Dodgers and their "storied" history, which is fast becoming "ancient" history.
Given how well Weaver has pitched, how do you feel today about his contract holdout? Was that $4 million signing bonus worth it? Is Boras still a bastard, or was he wise to advise his client that way?
