Angels Sweep is a Royal Leap

Final Score in Los Angeles of Anaheim: Royals 3, Angels 4

Did you see that catch? Did you SEE that catch? Did you see that CATCH?

The signs outside Angel Stadium claim that "The Catch" will re-open later in the Summer, but Torii Hunter saved a game for Brian Fuentes and the Angels with a catch of a Miguel Olivo flyball over the Centerfield wall... well not A catch... THE catch. Scot Shields got the win in relief and the Angels swept the first place Royals, allowing only four runs in the three game series. Fuentes got his 9th save of the season courtesy of Hunter's glove and some slick infield defense that ended the game with a 4-6-3 Double Play.

A 3-Run 7th inning saw Jeff Mathis hit a clutch single to score two runs and come around to score on a drag bunt by Chone Figgins. The Angels took the lead and never looked back, although they saw quite a heavy load flying their way in the rear view mirror as they prepared to pullout onto Victory Boulevard. What Torii Hunter could not do with his bat (he went 0 for 3) though, he did with his glove!

Last night's complete game shutout by Joe Saunders paid dividends on Sunday afternoon as a rested bullpen took over early during a mediocre effort by starter Shane Loux. Darren Oliver and Scot Shields combined for 4 and 1/3 scoreless innings of relief and the Rally Monkey woke up in time to inspire the Halo crew and the crowd of 43,000+.

Light up the Halo, Break out the Broom, DID YOU SEE THAT CATCH?!?!?!
