No team in baseball is hotter than Tom Kotchman's Owlz, who pushed their win-streak to lucky thirteen with a 7 to 3 victory over the Missoula Osprey.
The bullpen deserves much of the credit: though Mike Piazza struggled initially, allowing an inherited runner to score in the sixth, he recovered to fan 3 in the seventh. David Carpenter and Yeison Almeida each K'd the side in the eighth and ninth respectively.
The Owlz jumped on Missoula early, scoring in the first on a Carlos Ramirez groundout and a Mike Wing double. Later in the game, Dillon Baird hit his third HR and Jon Karcich went deep for a team-leading 5th time. Pat Corbin pitched five scoreless frames before yielding a two-run jack in the sixth. Recent Diamondback signee Bobby Borchering, the 16th overall pick in the '09 draft, then sent Corbin to the showers with his first professional knock.
