Final Score in Kansas City: Angels 7, Royals 2
Torii Hunter had a big night for the Angels in Kansas City after a too casual evening in the field yesterday. His 2-run single in the first inning set the tone for the game and gave the Halos a lead they would not relinquish. Later on as the crowd thinned out he hit a solo HR bomb to deep left field his 8th of the season to give the Angels a 7-1 cushion.
Scott Kazmir walked 4, gave up 5 hits, struck out only 2 all in 5 and 2/3 of shaky yet competent pitching to be expected of a #4/5 guy. Not brutal, not beautiful.
Left Fielder Juan Rivera left the game a few innings after fouling a ball off of one of his toes (he was not barefoot), as a precaution against assuming it was only a bruise, the Angels took X-Rays... that would make them precautionary X-Rays which revealed a contusion (medical speak for a bruis). Reggie Willits filled in for Juan in the field and even got a hit at the plate.
