Final in Anaheim: Angels 2, Rangers 0

Pitching like the game really meant something, Ervin Santana scattered 5 singles to record his 5th career shutout. Santana was a monster on the mound, terrorizing the Ranger hitters by striking out 8 while allowing just one walk.

Although the Angels only managed to get 4 hits from their offense, the big blows came from lead-off hits by Hank Conger and Hideki Matsui. King Conger hit his first major league triple to start the second inning, while Godzilla doubled to begin the 4th. Both would eventually score on groundouts, but that would be all Santana would need.

With the win, Santana improves to 17-9 on the season, lowering his ERA to 3.77. The 17 wins is a personal high, besting his 16 wins in 2006 and 2008.
