Garcia Shuts Down Angels O
On September 10, 2001 Freddy Garcia was the winning pitcher against the Angels. The morning of the terrorist attacks, the story about that game was in the newspaper. On September 11, 2011 Freddy Garcia was the starting pitcher against the Angels. In a weird way, isn't that awesome? Despite all the messages we have been given that things are forever changed because of the terrorist attacks, ten years after the supposed end of the way things were, the same guy is facing the same team. I'd say it shows that the culture is pretty damn resilient and something about this old newspaper headline made me optimistic about the future.

Angels Include Yankees in Pregame Ceremony
This is a classy way to honor the Yankees.
Bill Dwyre: Angels honor Derek Jeter the right way - latimes.com
Many Angels fans were upset when they heard the team might honor Derek Jeter with a ceremony. The team did the right thing by having Mike Scioscia and Torii Hunter present Jeter with a painting in private.
This was a tacky way to honor a Yankee. If Bill Dwyre is not on the take, he should look into it, he is a publicist's dream.

The website of the artist from whom the Angels commissioned the infamous Jeter gift painting. As a baseball blogger I would never bash a tee-ball player on my baseball blog so as a professional art critic all I can say is don't go looking for this guy's stuff at the Getty or Norton Simon museums any time in the next ten centuries.
Local Boy Makes Good - The Washington Post
Mark Trumbo knows more about the Los Angeles Angels than his teammates. He grew up 10 minutes from Angel Stadium, rooting for the club through every name change and logo swap.
Amazing article. Never realized how much this dude is one of us. Trade Kendry, I'm sold.
