Wednesday Halolinks: Money Talks To Zack Greinke, It Says "You'll Love L.A."

I think I'll spend the day watching "Firefly"...of course, after ingesting my Halolinks:

• No hard feelings: After Greinke did his homework, Dodgers came up aces - The Orange County Register. • Jeff Miller. No, really, Jeff Miller: Miller: Angels are spending plenty; Dodgers just willing to spend more - The Orange County Register. "If you don't like Dipoto's work, perhaps you miss the days of Tony Reagins and Bill Stoneman, the days when the Angels horded their prospects and displayed the aggression of dandelions. Sorry, but we'll go with the guy who has shown an ability — and a willingness — to make something happen, even if nothing happened this time." My least favorite OCR writer has written something I like. The end of the world is near!
  
• Progress is a good thing, until it's not: Sporting News Scrapping Print, Going Digital - The Wrap Media. "Sporting News, a 126-year-old news magazine, will scrap its print edition and go online-only starting Jan. 1."
• Three OC Register links? Who woke those guys up? DiSarcina leaves Angels front office - The Orange County Register. "Gary DiSarcina, who was promoted two months ago to be a special assistant to general manager Jerry Dipoto, is leaving the organization to manage the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox."
• And Christmas is just around the corner: Baseball signed by 1929 Yankees hits auction after being owned by a Benedictine monk - Yahoo! Sports. "The ball is up for bid on eBay until Dec. 13 with a starting bid of $12,500."
  
• Revisiting Dan Duquette and the Cutter - Beyond the Box Score. "However, the success achieved by all these extra cutters plummeted, as can be seen in the following graph (click the link)." The Angels are at the top of the mentioned chart. I suppose it's the "Haren Effect" and his cutter.
  
• Cincinnati Reds acquire Shin-Soo Choo - MLB Daily Dish. "Choo is part of a three-team deal with the Reds and D'Backs that includes Didi Gregorius, Trevor Bauer and Drew Stubbs." Weird trade for the Diamondbacks.
  
• I like Kevin Youkilis. I realize he's getting older and appears to have started to decline, but it would've been fun watching him this summer. Kevin Youkilis agrees to deal with New York Yankees - ESPN New York. "The deal is expected to be for one-year and $12 million".
• The Mets are a mess. Seriously? The guy won the Cy Young award this year and all they dick around with him? R.A. Dickey is feeling slighted by stalled negotiations with Mets - NJ.com. "The Mets are willing to offer Dickey $20 million on top of his $5 million option for 2013. That’s a three-year deal worth $25 million – or what Kansas City paid for Jeremy Guthrie this offseason. Dickey would prefer a package worth closer to $31 million." Sure, he's 38-years old, but he's a knuckleballer. Those guys last forever.
  
• Good news: A job in baseball. Bad news: It's with the Royals: MLB Team Jobs.
