Opening Day, April 1, 2013 is one hundred days away.
There have been one hundred walkoff homers in Angels history. This is the story of #100.
May 28, 2012 - Yankees @ Angels. Bottom of the ninth, Mark Trumbo leads off the inning with the score tied 8-8, Corey Wade enters the game as the fifth Yankees pitcher of the evening.
Trumbo hits a 1-1 pitch down the left field line for a solo homerun. Angels win 9-8. They reach .500 in their fiftieth game of the season and have now won seven straight. Jordan Walden picks up the win in two scoreless innings of relief but the real story was Bobby Cassevah in long relief of an injured Jered Weaver.
It was Trumbo's third walkoff homerun and the 100th walkoff homer in Angels history.
