Here are your Monday Halolinks. As always, feedback is much appreciated.
- Hunter: 2012 Angels give him ‘my best shot' to win a ring. Tori Hunter reiterates what most of us are hopeful for this season. A return to the playoffs, and to dare I say, greatness?
- Would You Trade Peter Bourjos for Anthony Rendon? From LAAI, "I had a nice debate with a fellow Angels fan on Sunday afternoon about whether or not it would be prudent for the Angels to consider a Bourjos for Rendon swap. It's an honest enough question and should create some disagreement among fans." I like Peter Bourjos as much as the next guy, but it never hurts to consider your options, unless one of them is David Wright.
- Hunter arrives, eager to learn from Pujols. Quickly rising fan favorite Alden Gonzalez describes Torii Hunter's desire to improve his game through Albert Pujols' talent osmosis regiment.
- Angels' Torii Hunter has renewed energy. The Torii Hunter news blitz continues. We knew he couldn't stand being out of the lime light for long.
- Bengie Molina Retires. From MLBTR. This story definitely deserves its own story. Bengie, we couldn't have done it without you. 2002 World Champions forever.
- Angels' Vernon Wells retools swing in an effort to bounce back. Mike DiGiovanna from the LA Times discusses Vernon Wells hopefully rejuvenated approach to the 2012 season, after a less than stellar 2011 campaign. If VW is anything more than average this season, I'll buy Tony Reagins a six-pack of chicken tacos from DT.
- Angels, Juan Rincon agree to minor league deal. The LaTroy Hawkins deal has finally been eclipsed.
- Maicer Izturis keeps open mind about shift in Angels infield. From the LA Times. Izzy, you da man.
- It's Settled: "Lin-Sanity" Ice Cream Flavor Deemed Racistly Delicious, Ben & Jerry's Apologizes. Just in case you haven't had enough "Linsanity," Ben and Jerry decided to enter the racially fueled fray. This is the biggest outrage since Simon & Schuster stopped printing their Famous Jewish Athletes pamphlet.
- Tyler Skaggs Draws Attention in batting practice. "We all know they've got golden arms," Gibson said. "I think it was more important that they got that out of the way and they can begin to feel comfortable." Not to beat a horse that has passed on, but I'll always be keeping an eye on Skaggs. I wish him success.
- Pie Duty will fall to Swisher. I know this has nothing to do with the Angels, but when I read ‘Pie Duty,' I immediately pictured a sullen Paul McAnulty. :(
