C.J. Wilson started today's game against the San Francisco Giants in a Split-Squad game for both teams and throws three scoreless innings on 42 pitches.
Add in some defense gems, miscues, and homeruns by both sides and you have your prototypical Angels victory!
On the pitching side of things LaTroy Hawkins made his first appearance this spring and pitched a rough 4th inning. Giving up three runs (all earned) to tie the game at three on four hits.
Loek Van Mil pitched the 5th and 6th innings and still looked "in progress" giving up two hits, including a homerun to Aubrey Huff, and two earned runs.
Donn Roach pitched a scoreless 7th inning while walking two batters.
Familar face Francisco Rodriguez closes out the game with two scoreless innings, walking one, striking out another and giving up two hits.
Offensively, the Angels bust out nine runs on 15 hits. Mark Trumbo, who started the game at the hot-corner today made a highlight reel line-drive catch in the 2nd inning. He would later add a monster 2-run bomb to deep left-center field to give the Angels the lead in the 5th inning. Luis Jimenez would also showcase his power with a 2-run shot to left field in the 6th inning.
