So after the game, a trade for a minor league pitcher was announced. The Angels got pitcher Barry Enright from the Diamondbacks for "future considerations". Whatever that means - It don't mean Peter Bourjos so don't worry.
But I did observe Team President John Carpino pingponging about the second floor pressbox area last night. He sat in Tim Mead's seat front and center in the pressbox and blah blahblahed as poor Eric Kay, the Angels official Tweeter, just nodded. Later on Carpy was scrunched up next to Jerry DiPoto in the General Manager's box for like two innings talking and actually listening for a change. At first I thought "oh dear, the team President is hands-on, this could be a sign of a big trade"... but a little later I spotted him in Arte Moreno's empty luxury box with Dennis Kuhl while a female usher dug a foulball out of the trashcan. Kuhl got the ball with no fight over it from Carpino and I figured if this was the climax of Carpino's night, no team activity of any importance was imminent.
Maybe Kuhl and Carpino are excited that their real favorite team acquired Ichiro. SBN sure was...
