Final Score at the Fenway: Angels 5 Red Sox 3

The Angels batters followed a familiar pattern, scoring early and then shutting down. Starter Ervin Santana pitched great, his only mistake being a 2-run bomb late in his 6.1 IP outing. The Angels bullpen followed a familiar pattern, Jordan Walden coming in and giving up a run. Mike Scioscia then broke the hex by bringing in Scott Downs to end an inning and then letting him start the next frame. While Kevin Jepsen was not flawless, his 2/3 of an inning pitched was a fine bridge to a 1-2-3 Ernesto Frieri ninth inning save.

The big blast was a two-run homerun by Mark Trumbo that went over the monster and out of Fenway Park. In his 100th game of the season Mike Trout made his Fenway Park debut, striking out to lead off the game but going 2 for 4 with a run scored. He was also caught stealing, once, when he was five, he enjoys stealing, it's as simple as that, well its... just a simple fact.
