Halo ace Jered Weaver retrieve his title in Fenway Park Wednesday night. He struck out five Red Sox batters in seven innings pitched for his 16th win of the season. Weaver scattered seven hits and allowed two runs in a problematic fourth inning, but the Angels bats showed up with fifteen hits, including three hits apiece by Maicer Izturis and Chris Iannetta as well as a solo homerun by Howie Kendrick. The big blow was a two run single by Torii Hunter late in the game to pad a three-run lead.

Angel 1B Albert Pujols left the game with a tight right calf after going 2 for 2 with a double and a run scored. Mark Trumbo moved to 1B and Vernon Wells took over in LF, going 0 for 3, surprise surprise. Closer Ernesto Frieri had to come in to close it all out and get a Save, but the W was a W even with Wells catching a fly out well in front of the Green Monster to seal the deal with two on and the tying run on deck.
