Angels straight edge pseudo-ace C.J. Wilson has become a minor threat to the team's playoff hopes.

Fans must be hoping that Mike Trout would not see his efforts amount to a wasted youth.

Mike Scioscia's managerial reigns have suicidal tendencies when he sticks with a lousy player because of the guy's salary.

The pitching is dag nasty that it did not deliver a 1-2-3 inning until the bottom of the 8th. The lineup approached their chores like adolescents, like descendents of European soccer fans, while on defense Alberto Callaspo acted like the baseball had germs.

Look at the standings and ask if their is something to fear. Believers in Texas are actually an agnostic front. The A's are the weirdos of the west. The Halos didn't have to trade their youth brigade to acquire pitching help and perhaps it is nice that tonight the bad religion on the mound saw an offense pretty much do X all game - better they be lousy together on one night and working in harmony the next.

The bad brains in the front office set up the clash on the field: overpaying for pitching can make you the damned if they are only mediocre more than rarely. Five walks by an alleged ace makes us all look like stooges. There are no minutemen to save the day, there are no replacements.

The fans are not the dictators, but our hope grows rancid. You don't have to wear your X-Ray Spex to see that it was a green day in Oakland and these misfits did nothing about it. You can be kept down by the score or down by law. All of a team's effort should make them appear to be better than dead boys. Is the pennant a black flag you'd rather not raise?
