Looks like Ken Rosenthal's "sources" didn't push John Carpino's rumored coup quite as far as the Team President might have liked...

Angels owner Arte Moreno gave MLB/com's Alden Gonzalez an unequivocal assurance that Angels manager Mike Scioscia and General Manager Jerry DiPoto would be retained in their current positions with the team.

The best part of this news is inside-media garbage. Fox's Ken Rosenthal published a blockbuster indictment of Sciosicia's longevity as well as the rare tidbits of Angels front office gossip. Arte's pronouncement reveals how pathetically low on the totem poll the big time reporter's sources are - the backbiting over assistant GM Scott Servais was a telltale of some disgruntled loser in the Los Angeles pecking order of Anaheim using media subterfuge instead of outright public whining.

Seeing as Robothal was the guy who broke the Albert Pujols to Anaheim rumor, a little detective work about who in the organization that was party to the signing of Albert and currently being squashed by the presence of Servais could reveal the (suddenly totally incorrect) mole in the organization.
