Angels Humiliate Justin Verlander While Miguel Cabrera Self-Destructs in Tigers Loss

C.J. Wilson pitched like an ace while Justin Verlander looked hittable and then looked beatable and then was beaten. The Angels took the second game of the series with a five-run margin that wasn't even really that close. Miguel Cabrera barked and barked and barked some more until someone had to leash that dog in the clubhouse, he was ejected from the game for arguing about the strike zone. The home plate umpire was injured by a foul ball and Maicer Izturis left the game with a rib cage strain.

Wilson allowed one unearned run in 6.2 IP with six strikeouts, allowing four hits and two walks. It was Wilson's third consecutive victory.

To end the game, and perhaps Detroit's season, Mike Trout robbed Prince Fielder of a homerun over the centerfield fence and back in his glove, a bookending of the game Trout started by homering off of the overrated Verlander.

Howie Kendrick had the big hit of the evening later that inning, driving in Albert Pujols and Kendrys Morales with a booming double to make it a 3-0 game before C.J. even put on his glove for the top of the second inning.
