Jered Weaver Making Progress

The Angels ace is en route to returning to a team that is so desperate for a dominant pitcher before things get completely out of reach.

It may be at the latter end of this month or the beginning of June, but Jered Weaver is coming back. On Thursday, Weaver threw off the mound for the first time since injuring his elbow, breaking it, against the Texas Rangers on April 7. When asked how he felt, the Angels ace simply said "great" after throwing twenty-eight pitches -- all of which were fastballs.

Weaver's comeback will obviously be a welcome one if he returns to form because the Angels' starting pitchers are twenty-eighth in opponent's batting average and rank just as low in ERA. Currently, C.J. Wilson and Jason Vargas are the only near-reliable starting pitchers because Joe Blanton has been, sadly, himself. And now they have swapped Jerome Williams into the rotation.

With this rotation, you never know what you're going to get!
